HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER:

Oakland Park Women's Club (1957)

The church began in 1957 under the name of Oakland Park Assembly of God.  In the earlier days of the church, services were conducted in the Oakland Park Women’s Club.  Eventually, property was purchased at 3700 N.E. 13th Avenue across the street from the Women’s Club and a church building was constructed.  The congregation continued to grow and expand their ministries to the church families, the community, and the world during the sixties and seventies.

Reverend Max Yeary became the Senior Pastor in August 1978 following the ten years of ministry by Pastor George Miller.

In March 1987, the congregation moved to new facilities at 2699 West Commercial Blvd in Fort Lauderdale.  No longer in the city of Oakland Park, the church’s name was changed to Christian Life Center, Assemblies of God.  As the church increased in size and ministries, a new worship center was built on the same site and dedicated in November 1999.

Christian Life Center has been recognized for its community services over the years through outreaches and Points of Hope.  The Student Ministries has been number one in the denomination giving over $100,000.00 to missions in a calendar year.  Thousands of individuals have enjoyed the music and drama presentations of the church over the past twenty-five years.

Over the years many members have been discipled, equipped and ordained into full time ministry.  Christian Life Center is the home church of many missionaries, evangelists and pastors.  The sun never sets on the ministries and endeavors of the church.

Historically, Christian Life Center has been a church known for the preaching of the full gospel.  The congregation continues to be inspired to godly living thorough the weekly ministry of the preaching and teaching staff.

If you have not been a part of the history of the church you can definitely be a part of the future.  The future of CLC is as bright as the promises of God!
